  • Who's under the Bushel Basket?

    Greeting and Peace to All!

I thought I would write, so I am!

I must say that I've been bad lately, better lately, but bad in the past few months - I didn't excersize my faith very well, I missed MANY Sabbaths, and Even The Feast of Unleaven Bread. All Which I hope The Father forgives me for, for I did know what I was doing, even though I did a good job of conning myself into being 'right'. Think for yourself <- - - not a good philosophy.

So I was talking to a man, hopefully who will consider me a friend after our last conversation, about what to do about those who are 'wrong'.

I asked if we should let a lie spread when we see it, or should we not tell someone they are 'wrong.'

I went to church with a friend this past Sunday (no, I don't think Sunday has replaced Shabbat) - His pastor spoke of Jonah.

He talked about how selfish we can be. How we often think our sins affect only us.

He asked if the Men on the Boat thought Jonah's sin was only affecting Jonah. They were all troubled.

And I thought about a pair of brothers I knew. And for the Seven years that I knew them, gave up their Friday nights throughout highschool. Who got a week vacation in sept/oct.

Who told my mom they wouldn't eat the bacon she offered them.

Who was The First that I came to ask about Religion?
Those who the Brothers introduced me to.

Exodus 13:9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

    I saw the sign.

They never told me I was wrong. I asked them If I was right.

So if you are worried that The Father has not blessed you with the gift of prophecy, knowledge, wisdom -

He has given all of us a light to shine -

And it Will affect those around you (perhaps not in the way you wish) -
    Be Patient.
    Shine Your Light.

    Peace and Blessings,
    Brad -
    Luke 2:14

    I agree Brad,
Our Father has given each of us a knowledge of at least something to share. We can all learn something from one another. I have found the more I share with others the knowledge I have learned the more I learn. The knowledge He gives us will keep growing as long as we feed it until it becomes truth. A talent is not gained over night, also it is not lost over night. To keep it we must use it, that goes for anything really in life.
He has asked us to let our light so shine, no matter how dim we think it to be. We can help others and they us.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."-Matt.5:16 KJV

        Cows eat more than Goats

        Greetings Luke!

Pair of Brothers - Why I oughta -

        _______________________

Why do you follow the Law Luke?

Do you follow the Law because you want faith?

Or do you follow the Law because you have faith?

There is no way to follow Torah as best you can! Either you follow Torah, or you don't!

        Your answer is all three.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

          Covenant Sign

          Valid quoted the following:

Exodus 13:9 And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

I agree with you, Brad, that there is a covenant sign. The keeping of Passover, wherein we, the church, the called out ones are the Body of Christ. When we render unto the Father that which is His (Matthew 22:20), whose image we bear and whose inscription is written on our hearts, and become the broken bread and poured out wine of the body of Christ, it is the covenant sign. The sign by which we are to be known. Until those around us are themselves indwelt by the Spirit of God, they can only know Him by studying His creation: US. A Kingdom was established on resurrection day. We are priveleged to join the Son in the inheritance of the Father. The difference in the church in which we have our membership and the church to which the above scripture was spoken is that we are still physically in the world from which we have been saved. In the world, but not of it. We are like a colony, with a charter from the King. Just as earthly kings wanted a return of their investment (gold and silver) when they sent colonists out with a charter, Our King also wants a return: reverence, honor, glory, worship, praise, to see His family enlarged and to grow up into the full measure of the stature of Jesus Christ. The "talent" of which Jennifer spoke. Our commission is to allow the Spirit of God to work in and through us to His glory. Oh that His glory would be our focus and our only motivation, though our labor be in vain. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

          Love,
          Robin

            bacon not a sign

            Dear Brad,

What I was trying to say, and I realize upon re-reading that I didn't say it, is that the presence or absence of bacon is not a sign of the New Covenant.

It is not a bad thing to follow Torah!

              Greetings Robin!

You are correct, we are saved from the world but we are NOT to be a part of it! We are to SEPARATE the clean from the unclean.

Separating Clean food from Unclean food is very important even in this day!

John 4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. 33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
How shall we know the good spiritual food from the bad? These things can teach us!

Do you not go to church? Would you who knows that being part of an assembly is a command, seek one who purposefully does NOT go to an assembly as a bearer of truth?

Why then, would one seek truth from one who purposefully breaks Torah?

              Peace!

The will of Him that sent me

                Dear Brad,

                You asked:

Do you not go to church? Would you who knows that being part of an assembly is a command, seek one who purposefully does NOT go to an assembly as a bearer of truth?
Brad, as a citizen of the Eternal Kingdom and a child of the Living God, I am in communion with my Creator. There are physical things that He commands me to do or not to do. Through faith working by love, I follow those commands. I do not glory in the following of them. I glory only in the cross of Christ. I am thankful that He has given me spiritual eyes to see spiritual things and spiritual discernment when I need it. If I recognize with my spiritual eyes spiritual light in one who does not go to an assembly, I will listen to the Truth he has been given.

I am sure you are aware of the fact that most of the divisions in the religious world come about as a result of disagreements over what we will retain of Moses. What will we bring through the cross of Calvary and what will be bring around it. There are those with whom I work who would definitely not seek me out for spiritual truth because I wear makeup and pants and jewelry. Their focus on the physical and inability to discern the spiritual is in a nutshell the Sin of Israel. If you study the gospels and the book of Acts and, indeed, most of the Old Testament, you will see that their sin was that they failed to "see" that the Law is spiritual. Jesus healed the blind man so that they might see the glory of the Father; they could not see past the calendar day on which He did it. The parables that He used to "show" them the Kingdom? They lacked spiritual eyes and ears. As spiritual Israel, we can do the same today and commit that very same sin, Brad. This is why I spend so much time studying the Sin of Israel. This is why, when you and Ab came to Completely Calm, I searched for Light and Life in your words and could find it.

You see, Brad, you mentioned clean and unclean. It is a very serious thing to call "unclean" what the LORD calls "clean". I am not called to make those decisions. According to scripture there are two categories of men. Those in Adam (unrighteous) and those in Christ (righteous). But today, it seems the "righteous" have appointed themselves as the ones who will decide who is righteous or not, who is clean or unclean. My commission is to be an able minister of the New Covenant. I undertake that calling with fear and trembling, Brad. I know that an anointing and a commission can be taken away. I know that eyes can be blinded. I pray for eyes that can discern spiritual light in others and God forbid that I would ever persecute the body of Christ as did Saul who, as to the Law, was blameless.

John 4:34 "Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish His work."

                This is clean meat.

                Love,
                Robin

                  Signs

                  How is faith evidenced?

                    Hi Brad!,

John 13:34, 35 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

He gave them a new commandment on the same night that He gave them a new "memory" for Passover and a new calendar for observing it in a new Kingdom.

                    Love,
                    Robin

                      Shining Light!

                      Greetings Robin!

                      Thank you for your response!

                      Hyssop .

To tell you the truth Robin, I am not sure why Messiah called that a New Commandment!?

Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

It certianly isn't New! I think the Greek language holds the key as to what he was saying, however I'm not sure.

But I do give it to you! That is a sign that one is of the covenant!

Now I must say, I am not aware of a New calender? Do you have references for this?

What is new about the Passover? He gave Symbols of the Bread of and wine, however nothing else seems to have changed?

                      Peace,

                        Dear Brad,

I'll answer this, but right now I've got to do some mother/homemaker things. You probably know all about that, huh? Cooking, laundry, cleaning.

But one quick question. What's with the wink to Hyssop? No fair. I'm here alone and don't have anyone with whom to confer.

                        Love,
