  • strangers to jesus

i was talking to someone on the internet about their bliefs and asked "do you think that everyone who doesn't believe in jesus is going to hell"

screen-name: "Well if i believe what John says, you must be born again , and then that Jesus is the way, No man comes to the father but thru me."

i believe that even people who don't know him can be saved. does anyone else believe this is untrue? why?

    Who Goes There?

    Greetings Lukewarm!

I wanted to tell you that I will be responding to this thread in a bit after I give it a little bit more thought! Good to hear from you though! I am sure you have heard that we have a Wedding to attend! It should be a joyous occasion!

I hope you be well out there, and give the guys a hi!

By the way, you may do well to use the names Yahshua or Messiah when talking about Jesus! It's possible someone might mistake you for a sabbath-breaker!

    Peace!

Hi there! I'm nibbling at the bait, but before I really chomp down, I'd like to hear why you believe what you've stated.

      Thanks,
      matt

        "sabbath-breaker"?

Man, I just realized how dangerous it is to say "Jesus"...

A guy could possibly get whopped upside the head with a stone!

Hey, What about me? Over here!

          mathew,
          man i love futurama.

all i mean by that is that there are people in the world who will never see a bible, and will never hear whatever name i'm supposed to say here. i don't think that those people will go to hell for not hearing or learning about him. that doesn't sound just to me.

This is all I've got concerning the matter:
            Romans 2:12-16
12All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, 15since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) 16This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
Man, it's hard enough for a guy to keep the law even if he's memorized it, let alone trying to keep commands he's never heard before!

What do you make of it?

            matt

p.s. Lukewarm, have I met you in person?

              subject goes here

              matthew,
that is a great scripture! i believe that most people are going to be ok when the final day arives. this is because i believe that the things you will be judged on are the things you know are wrong but you do them anyway.
concerning our australian bushman, i've actually written a paper about his kind for philosophy class. it was titled, even a blind man knows when the sun is shining. i think most people know things like murder are wrong without anyone telling them, ya know?
              shalom

yeah i'm pretty sure we have. was it at baymont in st louis? via spying and his family?

                Light Giving

                Greetings Lukewarm!

If you don't mind, I will call you Luke from now on - I do know your abililty!
Luke 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
There is only ONE sin that I have found that will not be forgiven!

                Peace!

                  one but not the other

it seems to me this is could be a good arguement against the tri-god idea.

you can poke fun at one part of god and be forgiven,
but that same person cant be called names, i dunno.
