  • From Passover to Firstfruit: A "sign of Jonah"?

    I'm confused !
Matthew 26:17-21 tells us that Yeshua and His disciples ate the L-ord's Supper on the "first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread". This whole thing confuses me. Is Passover considered the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread? When was Messiah crucified?... Before the evening the Passover was to actually begin?... Or on the day in which Passover would end at nightfall? I'm trying to understand which days are which, and the days (3) that lead to the "morrow after the Sabbath".

    sincerely,

    Matt,

Y'shua's sacrifice fulfilled the requirements of the Passover lamb commanded in the Torah. One of those requirements was that the Passover be killed on the 14th day of the first month "between the twilights." You can be sure that Y'shua died on the afternoon of the 14th day of the first month "between the twilights," at the very time that the Passover lambs were to be killed.

The Passover meal (Seder) was eaten on the night portion of the 15th of the first month. Y'shua ate the Passover with his disciples on the night portion of the 14th, the night before his crucifixion, the night before the traditional Passover lambs were killed. Why? Well, that's an entire study of its own, but he certainly knew that he would not be able to eat it with them the next night, the first night after his death. He was in the tomb at that point, the first night of three days and three nights.
Pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the [messiah] out of a pure heart. (II Tim 2:22)

      Sign Of Jonah

      Greetings Matthew!

I do know of this scripture that might help!
John 18:28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.

      Peace!
