  • Celebrate Yah - Happy New Year!

Countdown to Rosh Hashahah -- begins at 6:58 pm in Jerusalem -- 11:58 EST, 10:58 CST...

May your name be inscribed for a good year

    VII. Readings Rosh Hashanah

The annual Torah cycle has the following readings:
    Day 1:

    Bereshit (Genesis) 21:1-4, 5-12, 13-21, 22-27, 28-34
    Bamidbar (Numbers) 29:1-6

    Haftarah: 1 Samuel 1:1 - 2:10

The theme of the readings is "remembered". Sarah and Hannah will be remembered by God. A Talmudic dictum (Rosh Hashanah 10b) says that on Yom Teruah, Sarah, Rachel, and Hannah were "remembered".

    Day 2:

    Bereshit (Genesis) 22:1-3, 4-8, 9-14, 15-19, 20-24
    Bamidbar (Numbers) 29:1-6

    Haftarah: Yiremyahu (Jeremiah) 31:1-19
