  • 10 Favorite Movies

I know it's the holiday time and the board is all slow . . .

But we are going to do the Top 10 Favorite Movies (no particular order) Thread. Hyssop and ImAHebrew, you have to come out of hiding for this!

    I go:
    • Spaceballs
    • Wayne's World
    • Blues Brothers
    • City Slickers
    • Terminator 3
    • Shawshank Redemption
    • The Sandlot
    • When Harry Met Sally
    • Where the Buffalo Roam
    • Who Framed Roger Rabbit

And Yes, the Password on a computer I have is 1-2-3-4-5.

And when you are done - this is fun: http://www.uselessmoviequotes.com/umqq.htm

    Uh, yeah.

    Do these two really exist?

Well, Brad, I guess I feel sorry for you since your friends won't come out and play, but I'm afraid I can't play either. I can't remember when I last saw a movie and I'm not familiar with even one of the titles on your list. I did take the movie quote quiz, but the only movie there I'd ever even heard of was "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". I was totally lost when I read those quotes and titles, sort of like I am when I read one of your posts . Just kidding. I understood the quotes a little more.

I've just remembered I did watch a movie a couple of months ago with my children. "Finding Nemo" was really, really funny. The funniest line: He either said, "Move to the back of the throat" or "Do you want a root beer float?"

Remember what happened to the Boy who got everything he wanted?

      Howdy Robin!

      No Worries!

I do recommend spaceballs if you are in a total slapstick mood - or Shawshank if you want to see a seriously GOOD move!

Finding Nemo ALMOST made my list, but it wasn't old enough for me yet! I TOTALLY loved the Sea Turtles, and the seagulls; "Mine, Mine, Mine." Oh yeah, and the "bubbles" Fish.

I'll get those two out of hiding yet! You can't deny I thread like this!

      Nice Dissolve.

      Peace!

        Favorite Movies

Well, I really liked the Star Wars series and the Star Trek series. I also like comedies, such as The Money Pit.

Has anyone seen Always -- directed by Steven Spielberg? I didn't agree with the life-after-death theme, but the movie was great. I believe that what I find in a great movie is a mix of comedy, drama, love story, happy moments and sad moments -- a smorgasbord of emotion.

I guess you can judge my taste in movies by the only three DVDs that I've purchased:
        • Paul McCartney - back in the u.s. concert film
        • Always - Holly Hunter, Richard Dreyfuss, and John Goodman
        • Back to School - Rodney Dangerfield

And . . . yes, Robin. We do exist.

          Finally!

          Dear Hyssop,

I've actually heard of some of the movies you mentioned. And, I even saw "The Money Pit". Yes, it was very funny.

I cannot tell you how glad I am to finally hear from you. I've been talking pretty much just to Brad here and please don't tell him I said so, but he is a really strange sort of fellow. Just between the two of us, of course.

          Love,
          Robin

Trust me, he knows! That's what makes me him!

And this must be about the greatest night ever. Wayne's World is on USA and The Blues Brothers on TBS. Glad I have a 'jump' button.

            Peace!

I have tried to narrow my list to 10 and 5 numerous times before to no avail.

Well, what the heck, I'll give it a shot again:
                    Momento
                    The Usual Suspects
                    Fight Club
                    Life Is Beautiful
                    Desperado
                    Vanilla Sky
                    I Am Sam
                    Pi
                    Snatch
                    K-PAX

Though, all the others I listed are *just behind this list by a centimeter*.

                    Shalom!

I'm really looking forward to big fish as well. Also, have you heard anything about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or 21 Grams?

I really should have added to my list some other favorites like Fargo, Ravenous, and Till Human Voices Wake Us.

                      bah, this is tough.

fine, I'll just stick with what I have

                              I just saw ravenous about a month ago . . . um, it's good, no wait that's gross . . . it's good . . . even grosser, . . . that's neat . . no way, yuk. It was good I did enjoy it, however not near what I expected - Can you believe David Arquette got that big a role? Geez . . .
