  • Sorrow and pain

    Shalom All,

A little over two weeks ago, we were hit by a terrible tragedy. On March 8th, three senseless murders took place. Rob Whitson, and two other coworkers (Joseph Bisso and Steven Weiss), were brutally attacked and murdered. This tragedy has been a source of much pain and sorrow to the friends and families of these men. Rob was the brother to a dear sister-in-law of mine, Evelyn Brown, and he is survived by his wife Ginny, and two daughters, Becky (13) and Sarah (10). Joseph Bisso is survived by his wife and four children, and Steven Weiss by his two sisters.

It is difficult to put into words how we feel for those who are affected by this horrific and senseless tragedy. I knew Rob personally, and he was a tremendous husband, father, and worker. We all had a great deal of respect for Rob and what he had accomplished in his life, and it is just a shame that he will not be able to continue on with his wife and children as their protector, provider, and friend.

May Yahweh stand in as the protector, provider, and friend of those who have been struck with this blow of violence. He will rescue those who have been harmed, and He will put to shame those who do violence. May we all learn how to love, and truly be part of Yahweh's love.

In times like these, I read Job.

The rain falls on the just and unjust, but we can rest assured that circumstances work for good to those who love the L-RD. Things may not seem "good" in our eyes but we are so selfish, so unaware of G-d's plan.
