• who are the tzaddikim?

    Hello,

I was looking online for information on the levites and learned that there is a people referred to as the tzaddikim. I am very interested in learning more about who they are, what their purpose, history and genealogy is. Are there any traits common to the Tzaddikim that those uncertain of their heritage could identify with? Are there any resources/books you can reccommend where I can find more information?

    Thank you,

    metaphor,

    Welcome to the forum!

Although you have found tzaddikim.org, I'm afraid that we may not be able to help you regarding the history behind the Tzaddikim. I can tell you that tzaddikim is a transliteration of the plural form of the Hebrew word, "tzaddik" found in Habakkuk 2:4 - "the just (Heb. tzaddik) shall live by his faith."

It was not until after this web site was set up that we heard about the existance of the Tzaddikim in Jewish history. The only suggestion that I would have for you is to use http://www.google.com and search for information on tzaddikim, tzadikim, tzaddik, tzadik.

May Yahweh grant you a successful search
